We always enjoy going to Candlewood Yacht Club for the Roger Punzi Memorial and this year was also the 50th Anniversary regatta for Fleet 24.  This year we started out with 12 boats registered but no wind so we had a postponement.  But the Race Committee found the wind later in the day and we were able to get in 2 great races, and Greg and I won!  We'll see a longer writeup soon, but  wanted to thank Mark Riefenhauser and the fleet for another fun day in Connecticut - our last regatta for the year!

The Great Scot is in the record books and what a weekend we had with the help of Hurricane Matthew! It all started Friday night with a cookout for all. Stan and Donna Graham cooked 40 hamburgers for our visitors from out of town along with our fleet members. The following morning, we had boats arriving from Michigan, Mississippi, Tennessee, Georgia and Texas. 29 boats in all setting an all-time record of attendance. The biggest concern, however, was winds blowing around 25 plus! We had 18 boats attempt to race and were only able to get in one race...

Well, at the risk of tooting my own (really Fleet 135's) horn, I'd say the Glow regatta was pretty much a success. The weather was a little toasty, but still reasonable for camping. We had the very able PRO Dan Goldberg squeeze two races out of the light, north-northeast winds Saturday and then two more great races Sunday when the wind finally arrived from the south.
