The Flying Scot Buckeye Regatta was sailed May 16-17 at HSC with 17 boats, a high for recent years. The weather gods were not cooperative but the sailors were intrepid and raced three races in pouring rain on Saturday. At 5:00PM hot showers were more popular than the appetizers.

You may remember that we are raffling off a brand new, built to order Flying Scot in the color of the winner's choice. We said we would sell a minimum of 200 tickets and a maximum of 250 tickets. The proceeds after paying for the boat will benefit the Flying Scot Foundation that helps us ensure the future of Flying Scot Sailing.

This week, the Flying Scot community is a little sadder for the loss of long-time Scot sailor Don Hott, who passed away Sunday, May 3, at age 95. He is a founding father, a former Chief Measurer and former President of FSSA who sailed in the first 50 NACs. As Harry Carpenter said "We lost one of the really good guys with the passing of Don". The 2015 Great 48 was this past weekend 5/2-5/3/2015 at Lake Norman Yacht Club in Mooresville, NC. Unfortunately Mother Nature was not as kind as one would hope and there was little wind Saturday and none on Sunday.
