Fleet 193 held its 11th Grits ’n Haggis Regatta at the beautiful Lake Keowee Sailing Club on May 18 & 19.  We had 22 Scots on the line. The winds were light which kept the kilts down.  Even though we only were able to get 2 races in on the weekend - the Dark and Stormies, Regatta Olympics (hosted by Sandy Eustis) and the steak dinner with all the trimmings Saturday evening more than compensated for it.

After one last great weekend at the Upper Keys Sailing Club, the 2018-2019 Florida District Series in in the books. The final event was won by Jeff and Amy Smith Linton along with the district series with Mark and Michelle Taylor not far behind!  Another great series - can't wait for next year!

And ... Florida has a new District Governor. Welcome aboard Laura Marriot!

Travellers to the 51st Buskeye Regatta
  The 51st Annual Buckeye Regatta at Hoover Sailing Club was held May 18 and 19, 2019. It blew hard but the competitors were a hardy bunch who mostly stayed upright and in the boats. Bruce and Linney Kitchen from Cowan Lake took 1st place followed by Frank and Marianne Gerry in 2nd and our local team of Ray and Scot Trask in 3rd.  Charles and Sarah Buffington joined us as a third traveling team, pictured together with Kitchen’s and Gerry’s.
