The Florida District encompasses most of the fleets in the state of Florida.Active fleets include Sarasota Sailing Squadron in Sarasota, Coconut Grove Sailing Center in Miami, Rudder Club of Jacksonville, Lake Eustis Sailing Club in Eustis, Davis Island Yacht in Tampa and Charlotte Harbor Yacht Club in Port Charlotte. With developing fleets in Merritt Island, Orlando and Key Largo.

Florida has an active open circuit consisting of one regatta a month from October through May. Race Schedules are posted on FSSA and Facebook. You can follow the Florida District at

      Tuesday night we had another great chalk talk with Zeke Horowitz and the race leaders where everyone figured out what they did right and what they did wrong and were ready to do it all again on Wednesday.  The chalk talk was followed by the "Meet the Sailors" party where the Club members brought their goodies and we all sat around and talked for hours!  A really beautiful night to be on the deck at St.Andrews Bay Yacht Club watching the sunset over the bay!...    For you folks up north with snow and cold, please don’t be too upset to know that we having another beautiful sunny day in the 80’s in Panama City.   The ride out to the race course started in light air that picked up a little ass we got out to the committee boat.  For the races we had 10-12 MPH from the NNE, shifting enough during the first race to have to have to move the windward mark for the second leg.  We had a W-L 4 as we did yesterday and we saw places...    Sunday night, we had the skippers meeting followed by a welcome party at the club with great food and great people!  We started the day Monday with the a solemn but very nice opening ceremony, including the raising of the American Flag by club officers, accompanied by bagpipes playing.  This was followed by a welcome from the club officers.  The wind did not look too promising first thing in the morning but it looked like the sea breeze came in just before it was...
