Western Carolina Sailing Club, in Anderson South Carolina, held our 17th Annual Hospice Regatta this past weekend. The event raises funds for a local non-profit Hospice Organization called Hospice of the Upstate. The Regatta is part of the National Hospice Regatta Alliance where events are held all over the country to benefit a local Hospice charity.

This year we had record numbers of Flying Scot's (18) and boats in total (96). We also exceeded our goal ($75,000) and raised $80,600. We take a lot of pride in throwing a great party with fantastic food, lot's of cold beer and...

The 2017 Carolina Ocean Challenge Regatta was hosted by the South Carolina Yacht Club on Hilton Head Island, SC, on October 7-8, 2017.  Nineteen boats participated in 5 classes with 11 Harbor 20s, 2 Handicap with Spinnakers, 3 handicap no spinanakers, and 3 Flying Scots participating.

Thirteen boats from 3 Districts came to Candlewood Yacht Club to enjoy some great friends, some fun, some food, oh yes, and some racing.  There were 4 boats from Saratoga Lake Sailing Club in the New York Lakes District, 3 boats from my club, Massapoag Yacht Club in the New England District, 2 boats from Sprite Island Yacht Club in the Greater New York District and 4 boats from the host club Candlewood, also in the Greater New York District.  Participants included New York Lakes District Governor Ann K.
