Orchard Lake Country Club in Orchard Lake, Michigan, made a decision to expand its fleet of boats in 2020 to replace their fleet of Y Boats. They offer  many amenities to their members, but they note that the Waterfront/Sailing Center is an "essential area of the Club that contributes in a tangible way to the value of membership here at Orchard Lake Country Club. The continued refinement and stewardship in this area of the Club will only further enhance the value of being part of the OLCC family tradition for generations to come".

Davis Island Yacht Club hosted their 2021 Flying Scot rfegatta on 1/16-17/2021. There was lots of wind Saturday, even a capsize, but everyone made it back into the dock 0k.  It was cold in the 60's and the howling wind made Saturday a one race day. Save the Date – January 21

As part of our ongoing efforts to grow our ranks, the FSSA will be hosting a webinar the evening of Thursday January 21. Our speakers will shall the experiences working with US Sailing, the Flying Scot class and other one design classes in growing the sport.

Jim Harris, Former FSSA President and active Flying Scot sailor for many years, passed away on December 15, 2020. Jim was a member of Carlyle Sailing Association for many years and ran several of our national events from there. He and his wife Betty Striuckhoff spent many years sailing together on their Flying Scot. We will all miss Jim and we thank him for his many years of friendship and service to FSSA.
