Jim Harris, Former FSSA President and active Flying Scot sailor for many years, passed away on December 15, 2020. Jim was a member of Carlyle Sailing Association for many years and ran several of our national events from there. He and his wife Betty Striuckhoff spent many years sailing together on their Flying Scot. We will all miss Jim and we thank him for his many years of friendship and service to FSSA.

COngratulations to long-time FSSA Member Hank Sykes for being names Sail Newp0ort VOlunteer of the YEar!

Mary Meno, a long time FSSA Member, passed away on December 1, 2020. Mary and her husband, Fred Meno, were avid Flying Scot sailors for many years. The championship trophy for the Midwinters is named after Mary.. My brother, Fred Meno, Our condolences to the family and thanks to Mary and Fred for thei many years of participation in the Flying Scot world.

Gator Bowl 2020 is in the books. Fluky NW air on Saturday, zero on Sunday. 4 races Saturday! Jeff and Amy for the win, WallyGator stays in Florida with 1, 3, 5. Carolina skippers Dave Rink and Bob McElwain took 2nd and 4th. See y'all in Davis Island in January.  Results are here.

After a year with many regattas cancelled, Sarasota Sailing Squadrn hosted the Jeff Pennfield Memorial Regatta on 11/14-15/2020.  There were 22 boats registered and there was good wind!
