The weather did not cooperate last weekend at the ACC’s at Lavalette. The 40+ gusts on Saturday and 25+ gusts on Sunday brought by Tropical Storm Ophelia were a bit above our guidelines. Thanks to Lavalette Yacht Club and chair Roy Childers for hosting and giving it their all!

Did you know that the 2024 Midwinters was being held in conjunction with the Lake Eustis George Washinton Birthday Regatta on 2/16-2/18/2024? The Lake Eustis fleet requested this format and the Board of Governors approved it for one year. We'll see if it works well and if it makes sense to move forward with this as a formal change to our rules. Results of the Scot fleet at the multi boat Whale of a Sail regatta at Carlyle Lake IL September 16-17 were just published.  There was only Saturday racing on a drifter weekend which saw Dan and Tobi Moriarty take honors in a club boat with borrowed sails.  Many boats DNC.  Dan and Tobi were no strangers to winning as they took the Midwest District Championship in the same boat back in June at the Egyptian Cup.  Formerly Lightning sailors, they crewed for  Matt Fisher in a World Championship victory some years ago.  Welcome to Scot sailing!
