There was a time when only Thistles raced in the two-day Fontelieu Regatta in the Long Island Sound off of Westport, CT. After all, the regatta is named after Ted Fontelieu, a capo of the Westport Mafia (aka Thistle Fleet 99). Not that Flying Scots and Lightnings weren’t invited; they were, but the Thistle Fleet’s East Coast Fall Series participants seemed to dominate the field. Not so this year. Cedar Point Yacht Club’s decision to organize a second One Design Regatta (“ODR”) for center board fleets on September 28 & 29 comes just in time for Flying Scots across the region...

John and Connie Eckart from Massapoag Yacht Club in Sharon, MA, travelled to Ephraim, WI, on August 3-4 for their 114th Annual Regatta..After 4 races in light winds, they ended up first in a talented field of 29 teams, winning 3 of the 4 races and coming in 10 points ahead of their nearest competitor. The New York Lakes Districts were held at Skaneateles Sailing Club in New York on 7/27 =7/28. 2019. The weather cooperated and the racing was competitive. First, Second and third place winners are pictured above along with a cake that looks too good to eat!. Full results are here.
