Lake Lanier Sailing Club Flying Scot Fleet 111 held its 9th Scot-A-Hoochee regatta on Sept 24 and 25, 2022. (Lake Lanier is an Army Corps impoundment of the Chattahoochee River, hence the name for the regatta.). Fifteen Scots were registered and the 14 that sailed were on the starting line Saturday hailing from five states (GA, TN, AL, SC and NC). Ben Williams and Deb Aaronson (FS6144) traveled the farthest, from Eastern North Carolina, for their first-time sailing in the Scot-A-Hoochee.

Carlyle Sailing Association held their multi-class Whale of a Sail Regatta on 9/17-9/18/2022. It was sunny and warm in the 80's with south winds 8-15 - sounds like a perfect weekend. The competition was spirited and the racers had fun. In the Flying Scot Fleet, former collegiate sailors Karl Schuette and crew Andy had 3 bullets on Saturday but could not attend on Sunday. The Ohio District Championship and Fleet 80 Sail for the Grail Regatta were held together on September 10 and 11 at Lake Arthur, Moraine State Park, Butler County, Pennsylvania. Wind conditions were light on Saturday, and the Race Day PRO Dan Goldberg set up three LF2 courses. The wind held pretty steady (for Moraine), and three races were completed by mid-afternoon. The Sunday traditional format was a Bridge-to-Bridge race that traversed the entire lake in one long lap.
