41 Scots on the line for the 46th Annual George Washington's Birthday Regatta

District:

WOW!  It is fantastic to see that 41 Scots were on the line at the 46th Annual George Washington Birthday Regatta at Lake Eustis Sailing Club in Florida!  I bet you wish you were there!  Lots of folks went to The Oyster Troff where it is reported that the food was great,  And the weather was great for Jeff Linton's talk on boat rigging and tuning.

Dean Grimes wrote - I want to thank you all for coming to the GWBR! this was one kick-ass weekend, for sure! It started with an awesome sailing clinic by Jeff Linton., (who else!), sponsored by LESC, on Friday. Saturday, there were 41 Flying Scots on the starting line!! From what I have been told, this is an all time high for a Florida District regatta! A record! To add to that, there were 96 boats sailing on two courses in this regatta, making it one of the highest attended regattas at Lake Eustis, EVER! Believe me, we were pushing the limits! Everyone seemed to have a great time, and everyone came home safely. (phew!)

Jeff Linton and Amy Smith Linton took the honors, hands down. Zeke Horowitz and his dad Jay were 2nd. Our home boy. Dave Moring takes 3rd spot, with his crew,
Arial Harrington. Mark and Michelle Taylor get number four. Jim and Cheryl Signor are 5th.

You guys were all great! It was an awesome weekend. And, even if you were down where I was, at # 36 overall, it was a hellava weekend!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! - Dean

Amy Smith Linton wrote - Fantastic weekend in Lake Eustis, folks -- sunshine and plenty of shifty breeze, and 41 Flying Scots on the line!   Great competition from the usual suspects plus a very impressive showing from the gang at Lake Eustis, including the speedy team skippered by David Moring in the black-hulled Ghost, plus out-of-town teams including Rob WhittemoreLynn BrussNed Johnston.  And you have another chance to take a whack at the lake in April. How cool is that?
