Hi.  New owner to an old boat, FS #238.  Everything is solid, no soft spots.  Looking forward to sailing next year.
My question is that this boat is finished "clear" on the floor bottom.  I can see the balsa blocks and the fiberglass overlay.  Is that typical for this vintage boat, or am I seeing the result of a floor that has been replaced at one point in its history? Do you think it is necessary to paint over for UV protection?
