Whale of a Sail Regatta Flying Scot Results
Skipper Rick Wojnar and dad, Chris, from Champaign, IL and Clinton Lake Fleet 135 won first place in the Flying Scot division of the multi-boat Whale of a Sail regatta at Carlyle (IL) Lake September 14 and 15, 2019. Rick and Chris bested 17 registered other Scots by placing 1st in 3 of 4 races in light winds in the 2-day event. Second place went to Bill Vogler and Peg Woodworth while 3rd was garnered by Fleet 83 Captain Andrew Tasker and crew Franka Reuter. See full resultS here.
One of the highlights of the regatta was participation by members of a more recently formed Scot fleet from Capital Cities Sailing Association in Jefferson City, MO. This was their first venture to an out of town Scot regatta since fleet formation. Next up is the Glow in the Dark regatta on 9/28-29 hosted by the Clinton Lake Sailing Association.0.
