The Greater Richmond Sailing Association and Fleet 155 Host the Capital District Championships

Tropical Storm Andrea was an unwelcome guest as the 2013 Flying Scot Capital District Championships were held June 8th and 9th. The event was hosted by Fleet 155 as part of the Greater Richmond Sailing Association Invitational on the Swift Creek Reservoir located in Midlothian, Virginia. As of race time Saturday, there were 42 wife-husband teams registered, from 11 different states, for the Flying Scot Wife-Husband Championships at Deep Creek Lake, MD. Regatta Chair Bob Vance and his team gave us a great day and we could hardly wait to go back out on Sunday. We want to extend our thoughts and prayers to all the families who are touched by the volume of tornado activity that is currently spreading across the mid-south and midwestern United States. And to those who lost family members, our sympathies go out to you. The damages that are seen on tv don't come close to giving the whole picture. Those of us who are far away can only imagine how this is affecting so many people who no longer have homes or who are forced to leave their homes.
