The voting to allow the optional placement of the forestay turnbuckle above deck is complete. The membership has approved this option. The Measurement Committee will be making the necessary changes to the Class Rules and posting them. It is our expectation that owners who would like to exercise this option will simply turn their current Factory supplied turnbuckle and forestay extension wire up side-down and refasten it in place. A quick reminder that this option will not work with loose rigs. Also, owners should be mindful of the amount of forestay extension wire above the bow plate. In the setups the Measurement Committee has seen there is about ¾” between the bow plate and the swage fitting for the turnbuckle. If the amount of wire is less than this, consideration should be given to placing a small shackle between the forestay extension wire and the toggle plate. Please let the Measurement Committee/Factory know how flipping the forestay extension wire and turnbuckle up-side-down worked for you.
