Congratulations to Paul Foerster with crew Carrie and Carl Foerster on winning the 48th Flying Scot Fleet 23 Open House Regatta and Southwest District Championships. We were thrilled to welcome 15 boats from out of town, including boats from Tennessee, Alabama, Illinois, Louisiana, Arkansas, and probably a couple others I am forgetting. Ed: Also Missouri!

With a forecast for no wind on Sunday, PRO Jack Yoes ran 4 great races in very shifty conditions on Saturday for the 29 boats in the championship fleet, 10 in the challenger fleet, and 1 in the main & jib fleet.. Griffin Orr and Tim Ponter were the only boat in the championship fleet to record all top-10 finishes, but Paul used wins in the first and last race to win first overall, with Griffin and Tim second and Melissa and Eric Hemker in third. In the challenger fleet, Burton Shepherd and Amanda Boers edged out John Cassada and Chris Brooks for the privilege of moving up to the championship fleet next year.

Next year's Open House Regatta will be the week before Wife-Husband NACs at Rush Creek Yacht Club; we would love to have wife-husband teams come sail both!
