2012 Flying Scot NAC at Lake Carlyle - Day 5

District:

28-Jun-2012 Results

We started the day with a little wind and 90° and we went out at 9am and started the first race.  Before the windward mark, the wind was gone and we waited a while, but no luck.  So we retreated to shore for an early lunch.  We were back out by  1pm with the temperature at 100° but with 10 knot winds we were able to start the race.  We got in 2 great races (despite our own personal results).  The PRO Ted Beier and his Race Committee did a great job of getting in all scheduled races for the regatta and we get 1/2 day head start on our trip home.  We came in to pig roast followed by awards.

The top several places shifted a few times over the 5 races, and with so many top racers in the Championship Division, it was hard to know who would win.  The Championship winners were Jeff and Amy Linton from Davis Island Yacht Club.  Winners of the Challenger Division were Frank and Marianne Gerry from Delavan Lake Yacht Club.  the Masters winner was John Luard from Monmouth Boat Club and the Seniors winner was Bill Vogler from the host club Carlyle Sailing Association.

Once again, a big thanks to the host club, the Race Committee and to regatta chair Jim Harris and his crew.  All in all a wonderful week!
