2006 North American Championships
Hello All:
The Notice of Race for the 2006 North American Championships has recently been posted on our http://www.fssa.com/documents/NOR_06.pdf website. The dates are July 9-14, 2006, and the location is the Corinthian Yacht Club www.corinthianyc.org in Marblehead, Mass.
Variable wind conditions can be expected in July. Wind speed will range from 4 to 14 knots, with occasional fronts coming through. The temperature will range from 70 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit.
In the last few years, the Corinthian Yacht Club has hosted or co-hosted the Sonar North Americans in 2002, the Rhodes 19 Nationals in 2003, the Liberty Cup Transatlantic Race in 2004, the Global Challenge Around the World Race in 2004/2005, and the J-24 North Americans in 2005, among others.
Our NACs have not been held in Massachusetts since 1987, so we are expecting a great turnout. The NAC committee, which includes local FS fleet members as well as officials from the Corinthian Yacht Club, has been working hard since the summer of 2005, in conjunction with the FSSA National Championship Committee, to plan a very professional regatta.
The NOR includes contact numbers for lodging and other local activities. Additionally, please feel free to email Diane Kampf (DianeKampf@Charter.net) or me (RWilli4210@aol.com) regarding boat chartering, or with any other questions.
We look forward to seeing you in July.
