We had 5 races Saturday in winds 12-18, awesome weather. Sunday, we got 2 more good races in 8-12 MPH winds, another great day in the water. Congratulations to Jeff and Amy Smith Linton (1), John and Connie Eckart (2), and Chip Merlin and Chris Morgan (3). Thanks to SLSC for an awesome event. The newest boats to the US Marines Corps. Come sail them if you have access to Quantico. We would have been here yesterday but I fell asleep in one of the boats on top of a Mountain in Maryland, maybe West Virginia.

Deep Creek Yacht Club hosted the Sandy Douglass Memorial Regatta on 7/27-728 with 35 boats participating across 4 Divisions. There was enough wind on Saturday to get in a 1 and 1/2 Windward Leeward with the last leg being shortened. On Sunday, there was just no wind at all. Aside from the wind, the weather, the parties and the camaraderie were great. Tyler and Carrie Andrews won the regatta. The winner of the coveted Monkey award was Tom Wolfe, who gets to add his own memorabilia before he brings it back next year.

We just wrapped up the nationally sanctioned Women's NAC (WNAC) at Madison and what a BLAST that was (see articles posted below this one for details). Those cheeseheads sure know how to host a party (or two or three)....is that the proper usage of the term Cheesehead?...ANYWAY!
