Well, we didn't get any wind on Saturday, 10/5 at Candlewood, but we had pirates! I guess they thought they could scare everyone out on the race course in case pure skill was not enough! Argh I say!

Our club, Massapoag Yacht Club in Sharon, MA, organizes two of these events a year, and although it is always a blast being out there with others, it does not need to be an organized or group event. Continue Reading...Saturday of the seventh annual Glow in the Dark regatta at Clinton Lake Sailing Association was a blowout. Winds gusted to the low 30s as the afternoon wore on, like a sirocco or the Santa Anas. Still, there was plenty of beer and friendly visiting. Many of us enjoyed admiring class president Frank Gerry’s new boat, Eva, which Harry and Karen delivered to the regatta.

Continue Reading...Flying Scot fleet 177 hosted the Fontelieu / Fall Classic this past weekend at Cedar Point YC in Westport, CT. 15 Thistles and 9 Flying Scot enjoyed Cedar Point YC sailing at its finest. SE winds at 10 knots on both days and spectacular sunshine. The PRO for the weekend was Dick Thackaberry and team who also were the race committee team for the 2011 NAC’s at Cedar Point.
On Saturday, 3 races were held with Josh Goldman and John Cooke trading first and second place position throughout the day. Rob and Linda Cohen show great speed throughout the day to settle into third place. Sister...
