Greater New York
The Greater New York District encompasses fleets in Connecticut, New Jersey, some of Pennsylvania and fleets in New York that are on the Atlantic Coast.
Our active Connecticut fleets are Riverton Yacht Club in Riverton, NJ, Riverside in Long Island Sound , Candlewood Lake in Fairfield, Cedar Point in Westport and Sprite Island in Norwalk. In New York we have Moriches Bay in Center Moriches, Hampstead Bay in Island Park, Southside Scots in Blue Point and Westhampton Yacht Squadron in Remsenberg, In New Jersey we have Avalon Yacht Club in Avalon, Monmouth Boat Club in Red Bank, Toms River Fleet in Toms River. Shrewsbury Sailing & Yacht Club in Ocean Port, Hunterdon Sailing Club in Clinton, Lavallette Yacht Club in Lavallette and Stone Harbor Yacht Club in Stone Harbor In Pennsylvania we have Lake Nockamixon in Quakertown.
The District Governor is Mark Riefenhauser from the Candlewood Fleet.
At the Roger Punzi Memorial, 11 boats had the pleasure of 5 great races on 2 beautiful sunny days in new Fairfield, CT. RAce Committee Richard and Jenn Palmer and crew had to be patient on Saturday and flew the postpone flag for an hour or so. The first race was light air, but in the last leg, the wind picked up and held for the rest of the day. The GNY District were held on 7/31/2021 at Moriches Yacht Club on Long Island, NY.. We had over 20 boats racing. Great turnout!! Winds were on the heavy side and some boats retired as the day went on. Watch for results!

The NAC at Cedar Point Yacht Club in Westport, CtT, is in the books and from all accounts it was a great time. Thanks so much to Cedar Point, Sprite Island Yacht Club and Candlewood Yacht club for a wonderful event.
The Race Management by Dick Thackaberry and crew was superb, and with very challenging conditions for the Race Committee and the competitirs, they managed to get 4 races completed. In the finals we had 15-20 MPH winds from the east on Tuesday and light air... Read More 
The 2021 NAC us s wrap. Race 4 was a 3-leg Windward-leeward with south winds at 4-6. It was beautiful sunny day in the 80's. The Challenger Division was towed in when the wind died. On to the awards. Full results are here:
