The weather did not cooperate last weekend at the ACC’s at Lavalette. The 40+ gusts on Saturday and 25+ gusts on Sunday brought by Tropical Storm Ophelia were a bit above our guidelines. Thanks to Lavalette Yacht Club and chair Roy Childers for hosting and giving it their all!

Lavallette Yacht Club in New Jersey hosted the 2019 Atlantic Coast Championship on 9/21-9/22/2019. Regatta Chair Roy Childers did a super job organizing the event and it was a great time for the sailors. There were 25 boats from 6 states on the line for PRO James Wlash and his RC. They got in 3 races on Saturday in very difficult and choppy conditions and 2 races on Sunday when Mother Nature was a bit kinder! There was a time when only Thistles raced in the two-day Fontelieu Regatta in the Long Island Sound off of Westport, CT. After all, the regatta is named after Ted Fontelieu, a capo of the Westport Mafia (aka Thistle Fleet 99).
