In addition, Columbus is the home of The Ohio State University, and visitors might like to visit the football stadium, also known as the “Horseshoe” or the “Shoe.” Three hours from Sandusky is historic Greenville, Oh. For an unusual pastime, the KitchenAid Experience Retail Center in Greenville has activities, demonstrations, and cooking classes. You can shop the outlet store, visit the museum, and tour the mixer factory. Greenville has a long history, including being the location of the 1795 Treaty of Greenville, which “established the Northwest Territory and fueled the country's westward expansion by giving the new nation important access to the upper Mississippi.” The city has dozens of historic buildings (the site housing the KitchenAid Experience retail center was the Turpin House Hotel from 1885 to 1914) and the downtown retains the feel of 19th century America.
If you visit the website above, you'll see dozens of restaurants in downtown Sandusky to choose from. Bon Appetit!
