The 2018 Indy Regatta was held on June 30 - July 1, 2018 at Eagle Creek Sailing Club in Indianapolis, Indiana.  We had a total of 11 entries with 8 boats traveling from out of town - one as far away as Minnesota.

Sailors competed in hot and sunny conditions with heat index near 100.  We started out at noon in 7-10 mph winds from the SW.  Halfway through the first race, the wind died.  The race was abandoned due to the lack of wind and and a failed attempt to shorten course.  After the winds filled in again, we completed 3 short races.  Competitors sailed until 4:00 and were treated to ice cold root beer floats after racing.  Dinner was local award-winning BBQ.

Sunday was hot and sunny again with temps in the mid 80's.  An early morning rain shower chased all the wind away resulting in a 45 minute postponement.  We were on the water by 10:00, ran 2 races in winds from 10-15 mph and were off the water by noon.  After a hearty meal of leftover BBQ and Brats, everyone loaded up and headed home.  Thanks to all who came and supported our regatta.
