The Midwest District encompasses fleets in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Our active fleets are at Wilmette Harbor, Lake Carlyle, and Clinton Lake in Illinois, Lake Freeman in Indiana, Lake McBride in Iowa, Medicine Lake in Minnesota, and Ephraim, Madison, Neenah, and Delevan Lake in Wisconsin.

Our District Governor is Bronson Bowling from the Lake Carlyle Fleet. the Midwest District is also home to FSSA Commodore Bill Vogler. Read more about the Midwest on the blog

The Midwest Districts began Friday 9/4 when Brian Hayes of North Sails conducted an all day seminar on how to improve set up, sail trim and boat handling. Demonstrations of tuning and sail trim were held on a boat in the shade. That was followed by in class power point review. Then we launched boats in light winds for on the water exercises.   The 110th Ephraim Regatta, the oldest continuous regatta in the United States, was held over the weekend of Friday, July 31 – Sunday, August 2.  There were 27 Flying Scots (including nine juniors) registered for the event.  Flying Scot Fleet #44 hosted a pre-regatta, on-and-off-the-water clinic, organized by Fleet Captain Jennifer Ikeda-Faugust with coaches Ryan Malmgren and Larry Taggart on Friday afternoon.  The clinic was followed by the Regatta Welcome Party.
