Midwest

The Midwest District encompasses fleets in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Our active fleets are at Wilmette Harbor, Lake Carlyle, and Clinton Lake in Illinois, Lake Freeman in Indiana, Lake McBride in Iowa, Medicine Lake in Minnesota, and Ephraim, Madison, Neenah, Delevan Lake in Wisconsin and Capital City in Missouri.

Our District Governor is Jim Crabtree. The Midwest District is also home to FSSA Past President Bill Vogler.

The Egyptian Cup Had 21 Boats and Perfect Conditions – Let’s Hear it for the Pharoh! Despite one capsize and a broken halyard, the 2014 Midwest Districts hosted by Sheridan Shores Yacht Club and Fleet #3 on June 27-28, was a huge success. Eight out-of-town boats made the trek to Lake Michigan and, together with Sheridan Shores sailors, we had a field of 14 competitors. Saturday of the seventh annual Glow in the Dark regatta at Clinton Lake Sailing Association was a blowout. Winds gusted to the low 30s as the afternoon wore on, like a sirocco or the Santa Anas.
