The Midwest District encompasses fleets in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Our active fleets are at Wilmette Harbor, Lake Carlyle, and Clinton Lake in Illinois, Lake Freeman in Indiana, Lake McBride in Iowa, Medicine Lake in Minnesota, and Ephraim, Madison, Neenah, and Delevan Lake in Wisconsin.

Our District Governor is Bronson Bowling from the Lake Carlyle Fleet. the Midwest District is also home to FSSA Commodore Bill Vogler. Read more about the Midwest on the blog

Jim Harris, Former FSSA President and active Flying Scot sailor for many years, passed away on December 15, 2020. Jim was a member of Carlyle Sailing Association for many years and ran several of our national events from there. He and his wife Betty Striuckhoff spent many years sailing together on their Flying Scot. We will all miss Jim and we thank him for his many years of friendship and service to FSSA.     Whale of a Sail Regatta Flying Scot Results Skipper Rick Wojnar and dad, Chris, from Champaign, IL and Clinton Lake Fleet 135 won first place in the Flying Scot division of the multi-boat Whale of a Sail regatta at Carlyle (IL) Lake September 14 and 15, 2019. Rick and Chris bested 17 registered other Scots by placing 1st in 3 of 4 races in light winds in the 2-day event.  Second place went to Bill Vogler and Peg Woodworth while 3rd was garnered by Fleet... John and Connie Eckart from Massapoag Yacht Club in Sharon, MA, travelled to Ephraim, WI, on August 3-4 for their 114th Annual Regatta..After 4 races in light winds, they ended up first in a talented field of 29 teams, winning 3 of the 4 races and coming in 10 points ahead of their nearest competitor.
