Roger Punzi, in whose honor this regatta is held, would be thrilled to see the number of boats that came to this regatta! He was an avid Flying Scot sailor who supported the fleet for many years.

Well, we didn't get any wind on Saturday, 10/5 at Candlewood, but we had pirates! I guess they thought they could scare everyone out on the race course in case pure skill was not enough! Argh I say!
While we did not race, we had a really great time visitng with old and new friends. There were 20 boats from 3 states registered and ready to go if the predicted wind actually materialized. Flying Scot fleet 177 hosted the Fontelieu / Fall Classic this past weekend at Cedar Point YC in Westport, CT. 15 Thistles and 9 Flying Scot enjoyed Cedar Point YC sailing at its finest. SE winds at 10 knots on both days and spectacular sunshine. The PRO for the weekend was Dick Thackaberry and team who also were the race committee team for the 2011 NAC’s at Cedar Point.

Day 2 was warmer, in the low 70's and the winds were steadier 5-10. Two races were raced in the good conditions and the winners are: Championship - Rob Whiiitemore and Challenger - Glenn Wesley. Congrats to the winners and their crews and thanks to Toms River for hosting another successful ACC!
