Photo courtesy of Clinton Lake Sailing Association We were very sad to hear of the passing of (GE) Jerry Hartman, long time Flying Scot sailor snd champion, and husband of former Scots n' Water editor Lynn "Sunshine" Hartman. Jerry was instrumental in growing the Flying Scot class and made every event he attended so much more fun. He will be sorely missed. Recently the Flying Scot Facebook page received a question concerning the legality of a transom safety line which was not attached to the rings. The system in the photos involves a line crossing the transom. The ends of the line are attached to bungee cords inside the boat. The bungees pull the ends into the hull via fairleads in the transom.
