Not a bottom paint comment, but someone (I believe it was Harry C.) here suggested attaching the spinnanker halyard to the bow handle and snugging it up. Keeps the main from slamming against the stays when the boat gets hit by motorboat wakes.

Any form of outside assistance is banded per the RRS doesn’t matter what method is used to communicate it.

I’ve used the Sailwave software. Fairly easy to understand, does about anything I’d think you want it to do, the reporting is OK, and it’s free.

As long as all the boats are racing without spinnakers it won’t matter. It’ll still be 210. If you’re racing in a fleet with spin and non-spin boats the adjustment can vary but will be something like +/- 15 seconds.
