This summer I have decided to keep my Scot in a slip rather than trailered at my local marina. We’ll see how this works out, but the overall idea is to minimize the time it takes to go from the car to the water.
I now have to figure out how to secure it in the slip. I was thinking of using the mooring rings on the stern and the bow handle since I have no deck cleats, but I am concerned about both the strength of these fittings and about damaging the stern. The other option is to put some cleats on the deck, at least at the stern.
Does anyone have any experience with this situation, and can you recommend a solution? Thanks in advance.Rick, I kept my Scot in a wet slip for a few years. Yes. the bow handle and stern rings are good points to secure. I also used the chainplate.
Use direct lines to these points for positioning but use spring lines for most of the expected load.
