As everybody knows the the 2009 NAC will be in Ephraim, WI which is a beautiful area to sail. We are planning to be there and although I’m not sure if the NAC’s and our schedule allows it I was wondering if people are interested in some non-competitive pleasure sailing before, after or during the NAC (assuming there is time for that between races).

A fairly near destination is Horse Shoe Island which has a nice bay for beaching and having a picnic. The island also has hiking trains and a pit toilet. A bit further out there is a series of smaller islands that are home to quite a few birds. Then for a intense full day trip there is Chambers Island. If you want to carry your boat across some land you can even sail on a lake inside a lake. 🙂

We did sail to Horse Shoe Island and around the smaller islands and enjoyed that trip quite a bit when we attended the Midwest Regatta in 2005.

So is there any interest in a half/full day cruise?
