2017 Great 48 Had a Bit of Excitement – Even Scuttlebutt Noticed!
There were 38 Scots registered for the 43rd Great 48 at Lake Norman Yacht Club in Mooresville, NC . A full story and pictures are coming soon, but for now, enjoy these videos. Follow the lead of these 21 sailors who enjoyed 2 days of learning and took their Flying Scots to the next performance level in a very supportive coaching environment at Lake Murray Sailing Club. 2017 Choo Choo Regatta – Loads of Hospitality, Not Too Much Sailing
The Privateer Yacht Club in in Hixson, TN, hosted the 2017 Chatanooga Cho Choo Regatta that featured lots of fun and hospitality this year, but Mother Nature had other ideas. On Saturrday, 29 boats, count them, 29, went out to see how they could do in very light air. There just was not much wind and the race committee was able to get just one race in. Learn to Sail at the Deep Creek Sailing School – Celebrating 25 years!
Registration is open at the Deep Creek Sailing School. Enjoy beautiful scenery as you learn to sail in the mountains of western Maryland. In addition to our very popular junior weeks and teen week, we have three adult instruction weeks scheduled. The weeks of June 19 and July 17 will focus on beginner/intermediate levels of sailing and introduction to racing. The week of July 24 will focus on intermediate/advanced levels of sailing including sail trim, racing, and spinnaker skills.
