Don’t Stop Now!! Hooray! We’ve officially got MORE THAN 60 boats for our 60th anniversary celebration at the NAC in Sandusky, which is a little over three weeks away! But let’s not stop there; let’s turn the corner and head now for 80 boats. Don’t think of it as moving the goal posts, think of it as a way to share the fun with even more of your Flying Scot family. 2017 Southwest Districts Flooded Out – Still a Great Effort by Fleet 23!
From Fleet 23’s Facebook Page: The 2017 Southwest District Flying Scot Championships have been abandoned today and will be rescheduled later this year. I want to personally thank everyone involved with this event. Despite the flooding and lack of wind we all had a positive experience. Corinthian Sailing Club has great members. I want to tell you that while we waited in vain for the wind our happy group of volunteers and sailors had fun doing several important activities. We rescued a Flying Scot that was found swamped near the spillway. Our group temporarily fixed two broken davits and drained… Read more

Tip of the Day and Debriefs every day at the 2017 NAC!
Zeke Horowitz and Brian Hayes from North Sails will be serving coffee and light refreshments each morning from 8:30 – 9:30 in the launch area. Additionally, at 8:30 they will do a morning “Tip of the Day” at the tent. This will be an informal chance for them to share thoughts on what to expect on the water that day and for folks to ask questions. They’ll incorporate some of the top sailors to join us each day to share a tip and will post it on a white board under the North Coffee tent. They will also run the debriefs… Read more

2017 Buckeye Regatta – Hoover Sailing Club, Westerville. OH
The winners – the Kitchens – first, the Bruss’s – third and the Trasks – second. Congrats to all! 49th BUCKEYE REGATTA 2017 – HOOVERS SAILING CLUB Ten intrepid sailors and crew made it to Westerville, Ohio for the 49th Buckeye Regatta held as Hoover Sailing Club. Number 11, Frank and Marianne Gerry, were sidelined by an errant motorist in Indianapolis to the detriment of their boat and car but fortunately no human injuries. 2017 Grits and Haggis Regatta, Keowee Sailing Club, Seneca, SC
Despite a very iffy weekend weather forecast, 19 Flying Scot crews attended the 2017 Grits and Haggis Regatta on beautiful Lake Keowee, in the Blue Ridge foothills of South Carolina, on Saturday, May 20 and Sunday, May 21. But Keowee was not very beautiful for this year’s event. 2017 Final Florida Series Regatta – Upper Keys Sailing Club
From all accounts on Facebook, this weekend was a blast at the Upper Keys Sailing Club in Key Largo, FL, hosted by Jim and Cheryl Signor. This was the final event in the Florida Series for 2017.
