    The season continues for 2021 Flying Scot Sailing Association nationally sanctioned events!  The Northeast Regional Districts Championship is making its return after 13 years at Massapoag Yacht Club in Sharon, MA on October 2-3, 2021.  Get all the details here: https://fssa.com/content/2021-nerd-championship-massapoag-yacht-club-sharon-ma And don’t forget the Florida circuit starts on October 2 at Coconut Grove Sailing Club.     2021 Atlantic Coast Championship at Blackbeard Sailing Club, New Bern, NC

    Blackbeard Sailing Club in New Bern, NC, hosted the 2021 ACC on 9/11-9/12/2021.  There were 17 boats on the line and there was a little wind on Satruday for 3 races. No wind on Sunday so no racing on Sunday. The best story of the regatta is that Hull #24, sailed by very new Scot sailors, got to the weather mark 1st in the second race.  There was no big wind shift  and no crazy course.  They had a good start, played the right side, and made out.  In the end the winners were John and Sharon Wake from Fishing Bay.… Read more

    2021 New England Districts at Massabesic Yacht Club, Manchester, NH

    Massabesic Yacht Club in Manchester, NH, hosted the 2021 New England Districts on 8/28/2021. It was a bit cloudy with highs in the 70’s so we dresed in layers to be ready if it warmed up.  It warmed up a little but the clouds stayed.  With mostly easetrly winds 5-10 MPH, with Larry Christian as PRO, we had 5 great races, and could have done more with the conditions we had! There were 11 boats, 4 from Massapoag and 7 from Massabesic. In the end, the Massapoag teams took the top 4 spots with John and Connie Eckart winning the district… Read more

    2021 Wife-Husband is a wrap!

    Flying Scot 2021 Wife Husband – 4 races today and we’re calling it a regatta before Hurricane Henri gets here.  We had a great sunny, pleasant day in the 80’s with SW winds 5-8 occasionally 10. Winners of the Championship Division are Jeff and Amy Linton and the Challenger Division winners are David and Marilyn Archibald. I want to thank Massapoag Yacht Club for supporting this fun regatta and we hope to see some of you at the NERD in a little over a month!     2021 Wife-Husband at Massapoag Yacht Club, Sharon- MA – early arrivals

    The 2021 Wife-Husband Championships are in full swing. at Massapoag Yacht Club in Sharon, MA. People started arriving on Monday, fresh from racing at Saratoga, NY. Lots of us camping, some are staying with club members, the rest are in local inns and hotels.  There’s lots of camaraderie in the Flying Scot class and it’s always evedent at this annual event.  Everyone helps eveyone else get boats parked, rig the boats, launch, retrieve. And it’s great to see teams from 8 states coming together for this event.     There’s been a flurriy of activity in the Flying Scot Class over the last few weekends, with clubs hosting all over the place.  Pictured above are the Saratoga Winners – photo courtesy of Paul Waterfield. Ephraim/s 116th Annual Regatta was August 7-8, with 22 boats, won by Ryan Malmgren and Stacey Rieu.  See the results here.
