2021 Capital Districts at Greater Richmond Sailing Association
2021 Capital District Championship Mills Jones, FS 5846 Greater Richmond Sailing Association (GRSA) Fleet 155 hosted the Capital District Championship Regatta October 2-3. Eight Scots registered for 2 days of racing on Swift Creek Reservoir. Friday evening, Regatta PRO Jerry Thompson facilitated a racing rules seminar for race participants and GRSA members with emphasis on Right of Way, Keeping Clear, and Proper Course. Saturday morning brought cool, fall temps and light southerly winds with the forecasted high temperature in the 80s. 2021 Cruising on Lake Champlain, VT
Looking for Wind – by Chuck Nicolosi, FS 5122 Lake Champlain is an awesome sailing venue that provided an excellent playground for our Flying Scot cruise. Jan Reimers (4134) and Tim Mallette (1777) were on the planning committee that organized one of two cruising options, the other being in Michigan. There were four boats in our flotilla. We met at the launching ramp in Colchester, VT on Sunday, rigged our boats and sailed around a small peninsula to our home dock. The dock in which we were to moor our boats was challenging. The Glow 2021
By Eric Bussell, Regatta Chair The 14th Annual Glow in the Dark II Regatta is in the books! “The Glow” is hosted by the Clinton Lake Sailing Association and Fleet 135 and takes place on the first weekend of October. This year we enjoyed record-breaking turnout with 34 Flying Scots competing. Thank you to all the racers and volunteers who made the event such a great success. The event was originally named the Glow in the Dark Regatta because Clinton Lake is a cooling lake for the nuclear plant. The first version of the event was held between 1985-1999.… Read more

The Open House Regatta is the Flying Scot Fleet 23 signature regatta at Corinthian Sailing Club on White Rock Lake. This year marks the return of the Texas Steak Dinner Saturday night, along with all of our usual fun and great food. 2021 Roger Punzi Memorial at Candlewood Lake, CT
At the Roger Punzi Memorial, 11 boats had the pleasure of 5 great races on 2 beautiful sunny days in new Fairfield, CT. RAce Committee Richard and Jenn Palmer and crew had to be patient on Saturday and flew the postpone flag for an hour or so. The first race was light air, but in the last leg, the wind picked up and held for the rest of the day.
