Great news! The Florida District has finalized the schedule for the 024-2025 Florida District Circuit. If you;re uo north and missing sailing in the fall and winter, here are some great events that you can consider to fill the void. 2024 Saratoga Lake Invitational – Saratoga, NY
We had 5 races Saturday in winds 12-18, awesome weather. Sunday, we got 2 more good races in 8-12 MPH winds, another great day in the water. 2024 Sandy Douglass Memorial Regatta – 35 Teams Came, the Wind Did Not
Deep Creek Yacht Club hosted the Sandy Douglass Memorial Regatta on 7/27-728 with 35 boats participating across 4 Divisions. There was enough wind on Saturday to get in a 1 and 1/2 Windward Leeward with the last leg being shortened. On Sunday, there was just no wind at all. Aside from the wind, the weather, the parties and the camaraderie were great. Tyler and Carrie Andrews won the regatta. The winner of the coveted Monkey award was Tom Wolfe, who gets to add his own memorabilia before he brings it back next year. ACCs at Blackbeard (Arrr!) Yacht Club (NC) August 26-27
We just wrapped up the nationally sanctioned Women’s NAC (WNAC) at Madison and what a BLAST that was (see articles posted below this one for details). Those cheeseheads sure know how to host a party (or two or three)….is that the proper usage of the term Cheesehead?…ANYWAY! With the WNAC in our rearview mirror we are now looking forward to the ACCs in our backyard here in coastal NC. 2024 MAYRA FS Championship in NJ
From Facebook (anonymous) – Meanwhile in Southern New Jersey …… 23 boats at the MAYRA Flying Scot Championship. From Kristian Weeder – we had a fantastic regatta this past weekend. There were 23 boats registered (21 boats on the line) from five local fleets. It was a gorgeous day with moderate breeze. It was overall a great time!
