2024 Greater Richmond Sailing Association Labor Day Regatta
From the GRSA Gacebook Group: The results for the GRSA Labor Day Regatta are posted below. Congratulations to Kate and Vince Gomes on their first race victory since returning to the Club! We had two boats “shadow racing” with the Flying Scot Fleet, one more non FS would have earned a separate Portsmouth Fleet start (hint, hint). Thanks to Evan Davies and Tom Gallagher on running a the racers and Evan Davies for the following photos. 2024 Scots on the Rocks, Lake Murray Sailing Club, Chapin, SC

No sailing Saturday, but lots of conviviality on the club patio while the race committee tried their best to find some wind. Not really in the cards for us, so happy hour started early. The decision to start Sunday’s races at 0830 and take advantage of a generally reliable morning breeze turned out to be fortuitous. 2024 Scot-a-Hoochee Right Before Wife Husbands
2024 Wife-Husband Sailors are welcome to attend the Scot-A-Hoochee Regatta at Lake Lanier Sailing Club one week before the Wife-Husband Championship at Atlanta Yacht Club. We currently have 9 registrants and are expecting around 15-20 total. Wife-Husband sailors are welcome to store their boats at Lake Lanier Sailing Club between the two weekends. We also have about 15 tent/van campsites (non-powered) and a few powered RV spots. Please feel free to share this info with Wife-Husband Registrants. Lake Norman Yacht Club Sweeps the Podium at the ACCs
Last years Flying Scot Atlantic Coast Championship was scrubbed due to a hurricane off the coast of New Jersey. This years weather was the perfect opposite. High temps on Saturday of 82 degrees, winds 10 to 14, and light cloud cover made for an almost perfect day on the water. The RC was had mulitple fleets to manage with an “inner/short” course and an “outer/long” course. They even had the, sometimes challenging, dogleg finish line.
