A great big thank you to all of you who offered to host Midwinters in 2025! When the devastation of two hurricanes at Davis Island damaged their club and surrouding areas, they regrettably had to cancel Midwinters for 2025. The FSSA sent out an appeal for a new location. Looking for a host for 2025 Midwinters after Davis Island Damaged by Hurricanes
The members of FSSA are devastated by how the destruction from the hurricanes has impacted our friends, Davis Island Yacht Club and all of Florida. We know that you will successfully reconstruct your homes and club and will be ready to be the “sailingest little club in the south” again! Regrets from Davis Island Yacht Club Regarding the Midwinters
With great regret and no small amount of heartbreak, we must back away from hosting the 2025 Flying Scot Midwinters at Davis Island YC in Tampa in April. As you know, a pair of hurricanes first flooded the Tampa Bay area and then attempted to blow us all away in October. The damage is mind-boggling—not just at the yacht club facilities, but at the homes and in the families that make DIYC the “sailingest club in the South.” Ours is a volunteer club; we have the skills and the will to rebuild, and I have every confidence that the club… Read more

2025 FSSA Wife-Husband Championship HOLD THE DATE: Sept. 26-28, 2025 Hosted BY The Keowee Sailing Club, Seneca, South Carolina The Keowee Sailing Club is located on beautiful Lake Keowee,in the upstate corner of South Carolina. The fabulous view from our clubhouse deck includes a long sweep of Georgia and North Carolina Blue Ridge mountains across the lake. 2024 Open House Regatta, Corinthian Sailing Club, Dallas, TX
Photo courtesy of Heidi Gough Twenty six boats lined up for the 2024 Open House regatta at Corinthuan Sailing Club in Dallas, Saturday borught some nice weaher and enough wind and they got in 3 races, Sunday, however, the wind did not show up so no races were held. 2024 Capital District Championship at Greater Richmond Sailing Association, VA
From Richard Baucom on Facebook: The 2024 Flying Scot District Championship is in the books. The regatta was hosted by the Greater Richmond Sailing Association on Swift Creek Reservoir. Four races were sailed on Saturday in 8-10 mph breeze. Racing was abandoned on Sunday due to light winds. Congratulations to John and Sharon Wake for winning the regatta!
