2013 27th Annual Saratoga Invitational – Day 1
Saturday 8/10 -The sky was beautiful and there were brisk winds 14 – 20+ from the Southwest that gave us a real challenge on the racecourse today. 19 boats ventured out and we all managed to stay upright, although a few boats ALOMST went over. Over the course of the 4 races, the wind continued to build, but we stayed out and kept racing. There were a few people after the races saying “I have to call Harry”, but mostly boats stayed intact even in the heavy air. Results to date are here Read more

2013 New England Districts – Day 1
The winds were howling in Harwichport on 8/3, with 25 MPH out of the SW, gusting even higher and flags were pointing practically straight up! The Race Committee headed out and a few boats went out past the breakwater. With several boats, even some with 3-up, nearly capsizing, deciding to come back in, we waited a bit before making a decision about going out. Within 15 minutes, the Race Committee came back in with a postpone flag. Less than 1/2 hour later races were cancelled for the day. The regatta will be sailed on Sunday 8/4. Read more

We cannot control the weather but the patience of this Race Committee was unmatched as they waited for the right time to go out each day that we had wind and… Read more

Message from your outgoing President Diane Kampf
Dear fellow sailors, As my term as Flying Scot Sailing Association President comes to a close, I cannot adequately explain what a privilege it has been to serve in this role. Yes, there have been some long hours and, yes, it was worth every minute. I have loved hearing from each of you who reached out to me with an issue, an idea, a complaint, or a compliment. I have addressed every one of them in some way and, although you may not always have gotten the result you hoped for, you can rest assured that each item was addressed.… Read more
