Time to Submit Your 2026 FS Foundation Grant Requests

Have a project around your Fleet that could use some extra cash to get it going? The Flying Scot Foundation was created to provide funds for projects that support the Flying Scot class. Projects that have been funded are helping to purchase or repair a club boat, supporting sailing schools or an educational activity. Details about our Foundation are on this web site under Members.

Read more about the Foundation from our Past Chairperson Charles Buffington in this issue of Scots n’  Water https://fssa.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/scots_62_4.pdf

And here’s a story from Diane Kampf about how the Foundation has helped Fleet 76 (again) in this issue https://fssa.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/Scots_68_3_v3_web-1.pdf.

The forms needed to complete your grant request are available on fssa.com under Member Forms here https://fssa.com/member-forms and then scroll to the Foundation documents. Often applicants asked what is the “right” amount to request. While there is not a specific number, past awards have ranged from $500 to $3,000. Please submit your 2026 grant applications to info@fssa.com by Saturday, March 1, 2026. Please put in the subject line 2026 Grant Application. We look forward to seeing your proposals which help make the Flying Scot Class even stronger.

Oh, and in addition to awarding grants, donations are always welcome and encouraged. The Foundation is recognized by the IRS as 501c charity. You can donate here https://fssa.com/join-renew-donate/

Thanks from your FS Foundation Chair Bill Dunham
