I would try another launch site. You really don’t need much of a vehicle to tow the Scot and launch it. We have a hitch on our Toyota Matrix and have towed it from NJ to Lake George NY and have launched her from a pebbly street end towny launch many times. If the tide was too low we actually took the trailer off the car and walked the trailer in till she floated knowing it would be easy to take her out as the tide came in.  My buddy was like what if we can’t get her back to the car? I told him we would get the boat on the trailer and then use the trailer winch to pull the trailer up to the car!  We had the afternoon without the kids and we were SAILING!

The links no longer work. Could someone repost pics of “The Palm”?

I live in NJ and would have loved to go to this year’s event but there was no way to pull off a weeks worth of coverage or vacation time with crew too. I think shorter is better. Just my two cents.

    Sorry Phil
That still doesn’t help. It will be on the seat in a turtle. “Forward” doesnt really help. Does it not matter if it launches over or under the jib sheets?

How did the skipper easily switch sides? Or it wasn’t easy but just dealt with and the reason for the change?

I would say “trailering” is the act of putting it on the trailer. You get a tow from a rescue boat and you tow your Scot when it is on the trailer. Hence the towing capacity of the vehicle.

Trying to visualize the set up. Block on the tiller ? End of boom and mid boom down to the winch?
Or does it come to the winch at an angle from the back end of the boom?

I have complete confidence in a 8000 pound lifting strap tied with a over hand on a bight it figure eight on a bight to create the lifting point.
But borrowing maybe easier for now.
I’m looking the mbc memorial day weekend or Shrewsbury regattas.
    Thanks
