Selling our Scot (2549-Custom Flex 1974). Purchased in 2016. Have trailed and sailed it from South Carolina to Pennsylvania to Northern Minnesota.
Maintenance & Upgrades
- Floor replaced in 2016.
- New standing rigging, class-required bow bag and transom port at that time as well.
- Swim ladder.
- All work done in MD by Flying Scot Inc.
- Centerboard shimmed and gasket added in 2018 also by Flying Scot.
- Jib sheets moved to seats by FS.
Sails
- Two sets of sails, both in Mad Sails bags.
- One set is Mad snug rig racing main and jib. Purchased new in 2018, lightly used and in very good condition.
- The other set is recreational, likely 1980s, but repaired in 2024 (new battens and sail numbers) by Mad Sails.
Trailer & Condition
- Old steel trailer replaced by the Scot aluminum trailer, purchased in 2017 from Flying Scot.
- The boat was sailed multiple times last year and is good to go.
Weaknesses
- Spinnaker is original to the boat.
- Cover is aging. Both are functional.
- Bottom was painted by previous owner. FS removed paint for me, but there are flaws in gelcoat.
