31st Annual Saratoga Lake FS Invitational and NY Lakes Districts
Another wonderful Saratoga Flying Scot Invitational is in the books. We had two great days of racing and loads of fun visiting with old friends and new friends. We had beautiful weather in the high 70’s and mostly light air both days. But we had enough wind to get in 4 races on Saturday and 2 on Sunday (one less race for the Challengers), with a mixture of Windward-Leeward and Triangle courses, keeping the divisions on different courses in each race. 2017 112th Annual Ephraim Regatta, Ephraim, WI
Glimpse of Friday’s weather (video by Eric Bussell) On Friday, Eric Bussell wrote: Looks like Harry Carpenter and Ryan Malmgren will be having their racing clinic today on shore. One of my favorite things about Ephraim is all these future sailors running around and having fun no matter what. They are playing telephone upstairs and doing arts and crafts downstairs. Weather is expected to clear for the 30+ racers who have pre-registered. 2017 US Sailing Chubb US Junior Championships at Toms River Yacht Club, NJ
We all know how great it is to see younger sailors in our boats! Well, the US Sailing Chubb US Junior Championships start Monday August 7 and run through Friday August 11, 2017, at Toms River Yacht Club in Toms River, NJ. One of the 3 boats being sailed will be Flying Scots, with Junior teams going three up. It’s great to see the class promoting the sport for Junior sailors, and there will be 10 teams racing Flying Scots in the event! 2017 SANDY DOUGLASS MEMORIAL REGATTA, Deep Creek Lake, MD
Fifty two boats completed in this year’s Sandy Douglass Memorial Regatta, while the factory celebrated 60 years. With 24 boats in the Gold Class, Zeke Horowitz and Cole Allsopp came away with first place. The Silver Class was won by Emily Meehan and Ashley Fulk, and the Masters Class was won by Ed Peters and Sue Chase. District Governor Martha Sweterlitsch wrote on Facebook: A great weekend at the Sandy Douglas Memorial Regatta with Cathy Huston, and Larry and Deb Anderson, our hosts.
