2013 Wife-Husband Championships – 6/29-6/30/2013
As of race time Saturday, there were 42 wife-husband teams registered, from 11 different states, for the Flying Scot Wife-Husband Championships at Deep Creek Lake, MD. Regatta Chair Bob Vance and his team gave us a great day and we could hardly wait to go back out on Sunday. With 28 Championship boats and 14 Challenger boats, we started racing at 12:00 noon on 6/29 and had two fairly long races. We had mostly sunny conditions in the seventies, and with a southwest wind and shifty conditions, there were lots of boats hugging the shore to get the best of… Read more

Our Thoughts are With the Tornado Victims
We want to extend our thoughts and prayers to all the families who are touched by the volume of tornado activity that is currently spreading across the mid-south and midwestern United States. And to those who lost family members, our sympathies go out to you. The damages that are seen on tv don’t come close to giving the whole picture. Those of us who are far away can only imagine how this is affecting so many people who no longer have homes or who are forced to leave their homes. Fellow Scot sailors, please keep all these folks in your thoughts. Thank you. Read more

Sell Your Old Sails at the 2013 NAC
The Flying Scot Foundation has generously awarded a grant to North Carolina Community Sailing and Rowing (NCCSR) to purchase used sails for our 12 Flying Scots. NCCSR is located on Lake Norman not far from LNYC host of 2013 NAC. NCCSR will pay $200 for each retired racing set of main and jib brought to the NAC. We will have a table set up at LNYC. Selling your old sails to NCCSR will really help the community sailing racing and learn-to-sail programs and also help you dramatically reduce the cost of attending the event. We have no limit on the… Read more
