I have finally found a Scot near me and I am going to look at it next week.  It is number #1521, built by Lofland, Sail-Craft Inc., in Wichita Kansas.  I am not sure what to look for this generation of boat and was hoping folks might be able to help me out.  I need a non-project vessel to teach my kids to sail on.

Would it have balsa soft-core isues?  Is there anything else traditionally problematic with boats around this vintage?

Apologies if this is the wrong forum and thanks in advance for your replies!
