While raising my mast, I noticed the forestay extender strands were frayed. I got a new heavy duty forestay extender but the top “screw-in” portion of the turnbuckle will not fit down through the hole in the bow eye plate. Should I just drill the hole out a bit or could that introduce other problems?
I spoke to Flying Scot this morning — used a drill to just slightly enlarge the hole and its fine.
