    I have a deck mounted Harken ratchet block that turns fine but the ratchet will not engage. Are there any solutions other than to replace.

    Jim. Just a thought . The handle on the ratchet may just be turning, see if you can pry the handle off and turn the shaft to engage it. Don’t know what a fix is other than maybe glue the handle.

    Jim,

    You can also return it to Harken and they will rebuild it for you.

    Thanks for the thoughts folks. On the return to Harken option is there any age limit. I think this block was put on the boat in the mid-70s shortly after Harken hit the market.
