I have been asked to help write a handout for the landlubbers sitting comfortably at table in front of the waterfront cafes along the banks of the Hudson at Newburgh, NY and viewing a regatta held annually at 4th of July time. Needs to be relatively short and understandable for those not familiar with a sailboat race. Given that even pros can get a bit confused as to, “what is going on out there?,” this seems a somewhat daunting task. Are any of you aware of any such handout or brochure that has been done?
These folks will be able to view pretty much the entire race course and one of the turning marks is usually set near the waterfront area. – I understand it was set a bit too close last year, but that is another story.
