PROPOSED REVISIONS TO THE FSSA CONSTITUTION AND BYLAWS

At the 2008 Annual Meeting at the Toms River NAC, there will be a Fleet vote on a proposed revision of the FSSA Constitution.  Also at the NAC, the Board of Governors will vote on a parallel revision of the FSSA Bylaws.

The proposed revisions are the result of a comprehensive review to update obsolete requirements, eliminate internal conflicts, eliminate cumbersome practices and those which no longer reflect reality, correct errors, make the documents compliant with the Racing Rules of Sailing, and fix editorial mistakes.  Both revisions have been endorsed by the Executive Committee and the Board of Governors.

For each document, the proposed revision is shown in two formats:  First, a marked-up copy of the current version, showing all changes and the reason for each change.  In addition, a summary of the significant changes is given in the “Record of Revision” at the end of each document.  Second, a “clean copy,” showing how the revision will appear in the FSSA Handbook.
